Tried and True.. Words to Motivate

What word motivates you?  Can you pick just one?  A word that can echo in your soul, and remind you to do work, or take a step back and breathe.  Our family word is Thankful.  We appreciate our story every day and are Thankful for where we landed.  We are Thankful for filling our house for Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthday parties.  We are Thankful for watching the circle of life happen before our eyes with the wildlife in our backyard.  We are Thankful for the bus stop 2 doors down, and all the good friends we see there every day.  We are Thankful for friends, new and old.  We are Thankful for acceptance and feeling like we have our village in which it takes to raise our kids.

Brooklyn wants to Grow, not just her hair, but as a little person.  3 is going to look good on her very soon.   Gracyn needs to pause and Breathe on occasion.  She seems to be a carbon copy of her Mama.  I’m grateful for everything I have learned about myself, and I’m able to walk Gracyn through her anxieties, fears and joys and we just Breathe.

Tim wants Consistency.  He wants to be Consistent in a healthy diet, as we plan our summer garden.  A Consistent work out and exercise routine, and Consistency in work and home.  I want to keep everything in Balance.  As we figure out new jobs, new paths, and new schedules.  We need to accountable for everything that we need, physically and mentally.  A good Balance will keep us all on the same page, and help to keep stress level down.  It’s an aggressive goal, but it needs to start with me.   Mawmaw wants Calm.  When the whirlwind starts at 6am with getting lunches made, breakfast eaten and Gracyn off to the bus, Mawmaw welcomes the Calm.  She and Brook get to do chores, some shopping and enjoy their time at the library.  They then watch the clock for the time Gracyn comes home.  By the time we all meet up at Fairfax Lane, early evening, she is ready for her own Calm.

We will frame our words as a reminder to work on our chosen task.  We will also help each other, and maybe borrow each other’s words.  We could all use to Breathe and take a minute to find a Calm place while we Balance and be Consistent with our Growth.  I’m picturing our back patio, watching the sunset over the pond on a comfortable summer evening.

Find your word.  Send it to me; I’ll make your sign.  You’ve got this.  Like Gracyn and I say, ‘You do You.’
